Elmarit 90mm f2.8 in chrome finish. Leitz code 11129. Serial number in the 2,080,000 range, manufactured in 1965. Beautifully designed, lightweight, and capable of superb rendering.
While most Elmarit 90mm lenses are found today heavily worn with cloudy glass, this example has retained its original elegance and features crystal clear optics. The lens head can be detached and mounted on the 16464 (OTZFO) adapter for use with the Visoflex system. The tall helicoid ring offers just the right rotation angle, making operation smooth and comfortable. Despite being a 90mm f2.8 telephoto lens of 3 groups and 5 elements, it weighs only 335 g in actual measurement, making it an excellent choice even for casual snapshots.
The dedicated hood is IUFOO / 12575, and it takes E39 filters.
Forty years have passed since its manufacture. The barrel shows normal signs of use, with only light scuffs and slight gloss, giving it an overall clean appearance. There is a small ding at the hood mount, but it does not affect hood attachment, which has been confirmed.
All functions have been checked. Both the aperture ring and helicoid operate smoothly, providing comfortable handling. Rangefinder coupling is accurate and focusing is precise.
On the rear element, one or two extremely faint cleaning marks can be seen, but the glass is clear and bright.
The lens delivers excellent sharpness, producing crisp images even wide open and at the minimum focusing distance. Test shots confirmed outstanding performance.
Comes with third-party front and rear caps.
