※About rarity

Triple Elmar 9cm. Code 11830. Serial number in the 1.92 million range, manufactured in 1962. The filter thread is E39 size. As production lasted only five years, the total number manufactured was limited to around 6000 units. This model adopted new glass types and shifted from the previous 4-element design to a 3-element construction.

Nicknamed the Razor Elmar for its high resolving power and sharp rendering, it is known for its clarity and natural color reproduction. Weighing only 235g (measured), it is also exceptionally compact and lightweight.

This is a superb lens with an excellent balance of image quality, design, and handling. The offered unit is in beautiful condition, both optically and cosmetically.

This item was previously sold by our store and has now returned. It was carefully used by the previous owner and remains in outstanding condition, just as it was when last sold. This marks its third time being offered for sale.

There are hardly any signs of use, and the overall appearance is exceptionally beautiful—near mint, close to brand new.

All mechanical functions operate smoothly, including the aperture and focusing rings, which move with exceptional fluidity. The rangefinder coupling works perfectly. You can fully enjoy the razor-sharp rendering typical of the Triplet Elmar on your M-mount Leica.

The lens glass is as beautiful as its exterior—clear and free from haze or cleaning marks. A wonderful piece for both use and collection.
