Leicavit for the Leica IIIf and IIIg, code SYOOM. This rapid winding device is the successor to the Leica Pistol.
By pulling the trigger, you can advance the film quickly. It is faster than winding with the camera’s knob and lets you keep your eye on the finder so you never miss a shot. A go-to item for press photographers of the era.
At first glance it looks like a simple rod with a Leica engraving, but once mounted, both the handling and the overall look of the camera improve instantly.
Unlike the Leica Pistol, it can stand upright on a desk, which is another pleasing feature.

Wear with a glossy sheen and numerous small marks can be seen throughout. There is a slight ding on the front, but it does not affect mounting or operation.
Fully overhauled in November 2025, and both the locking action and trigger pull feel excellent. Tested on our IIIG for mounting and operation.
A practical piece in just the right condition for carefree, heavy use.
