Contax G Hologon T* 16mm f8. This example has been converted to Leica M mount and is not coupled to the rangefinder. When released, it was said to be the rebirth of the rare Leica M-mount Hologon 15mm f8. Manufactured by Kyocera in Japan. While the original Hologon 15mm f8 was a 3-group 3-element design, this one consists of 3 groups and 5 elements. To suppress vignetting typical of ultra-wide-angle lenses, it uses a dedicated 4x graduated filter. Aperture is fixed at f8. Minimum focusing distance is 0.3 m.
There are faint scuff marks on the rear guard section, but apart from that, the item shows no signs of use and remains in near-mint condition. The included viewfinder and graduated filter are also in excellent shape. The viewfinder glass shows some haze, but the visibility is still clear enough for practical use.
The glass itself is clean, with no noticeable wipe marks or haze, complementing its beautiful exterior. Test shots produced excellent results.
Comes with the original box, instruction manual, expired warranty card, inspection certificate, price tag, viewfinder, dedicated graduated filter, and case.
