Leica Pistol, SCNOO. A very beautiful example in black paint and nickel finish. Introduced in 1935. A convenient accessory that allows quick and light film advance with the left hand while keeping your finger on the shutter release.
Today, beyond its practical benefit of improving rapid shooting, its true appeal lies in the striking look it gives the camera when mounted. The tripod screw is the large thread type.
Compatible with Leica DII, DIII, IIIa and later models from serial number 159000 onward. It can also be used on earlier models if the winding shaft has been modified with a notch. However, it may not fit A models through early DII and DIII bodies made up to around 1933, as the body lug that hooks the pistol is smaller on those cameras.
Please feel free to contact us if you are unsure about compatibility.
Very little wear is visible to the black paint or nickel plating, making this a very beautiful Leica Pistol. The mellow, subdued glow of the nickel finish is especially attractive.
Overhauled in 2025 and operating perfectly. Function has been confirmed on our Leica DIII.
An item we would highly recommend to those who love black and nickel Barnack Leicas. In recent years, however, examples have become increasingly scarce on the market and it is now quite a rare accessory.
It comes with its original box and a leather pouch, though the pouch has a partial tear.
A beautiful black and nickel pistol in hard-to-find condition. Ideal for a collection.
