Before the design revision, the first version of the Summilux 50mm was a popular model admired for its soft rendering wide open. Stopping down just one stop brings a sharp and crisp image with a pronounced three-dimensional quality. It is a lens with remarkable depth and versatility of expression.
The elegant and graceful finish, also referred to as the Lady, blends seamlessly not only with contemporary M3 and M2 bodies, but also with modern digital cameras, thanks to its timeless design.
This example shows a faint trace of fungus on the rear element, but it has been well maintained, performs well, and is an excellent choice for worry-free everyday use.

There are slight scuffs on the filter rim, but overall the lens shows minimal signs of use and remains in very clean condition. Fully overhauled in September 2025, with meticulous servicing that has resulted in excellent operational feel of both the aperture and focusing helicoid. Rangefinder coupling is also accurate.

On the inner elements, a few very faint cleaning marks are visible under LED light, along with some coating deterioration near the periphery. The rear element shows slight traces of fungus that could not be fully removed during servicing, but the fungus itself has been eliminated and will not progress further.
