The Leica Rapid Winder SYOOM for IIIf and IIIg, following the Leica Pistol, is a quick-wind attachment.
By pulling the trigger, the film can be advanced swiftly—much faster than turning the knob on the camera body—allowing you to capture the decisive moment without taking your eye off the viewfinder.
It was a must-have tool for press photographers of the time.
At first glance, it looks like a simple rod with a Leica engraving, but once attached, it greatly enhances both the style and handling of the camera.
Unlike the Leica Pistol, it can stand upright on a table, which is another nice feature.

There are minor scuffs around the Leicavit logo and the trigger area, along with two small marks on the corners of the base. However, the overall appearance remains quite clean.
A slight dent can also be seen on the upper part of the open/close lock lever, but it does not affect mounting or operation. Tested for fit and function on a staff-owned IIIf body.

As a Leicavit, it is in fairly good condition and suitable for practical use. Depending on the body it is mounted to, there may occasionally be slight variations in how the lock engages or how the trigger pulls. If that happens, we offer adjustment services. Please feel free to contact us.
