In this second generation, performance at and near full aperture has been improved, delivering a sharper and more stable rendering. While retaining the characteristic Summilux signature, it offers a well-defined image even wide open. Versatile yet full of character, this lens is highly regarded not only by our staff but also by many of our customers.
It pairs beautifully with both film and digital Leica M bodies, and when used on digital mirrorless cameras, the view through the finder becomes truly captivating.
A delightful set complete with period-correct accessories.
Only the very slightest loss of black paint can be seen at the front edge of the barrel from hood attachment and removal; otherwise, the lens presents a beautifully clean appearance. It is hard to believe it is over 50 years old.
Fully overhauled in April 2026. Thanks to careful servicing, both the aperture and helicoid operate with a smooth feel and just the right amount of resistance. Rangefinder coupling is spot on.
The glass shows only very minor coating wear, visible only under strong LED light. There are no noticeable cleaning marks or haze, and the optics are clear and crisp. Test shooting results were also excellent, allowing you to fully enjoy the characteristic rendering of the 2nd generation Summilux.
Includes the original box, U.S. import certificate, 12586 hood, hood cap, and plastic case. The serial numbers on the box and certificate match, making it an excellent choice for collectors as well.
