Triplet Elmar 9cm, model 11830, serial number in the 1.92 million range, manufactured in 1962. Made in Germany.
This lens introduced a new type of optical glass and shifted from the traditional four-element Elmar design to a 3 elements configuration. It accepts E39 filters.
Production lasted only five years, with a total of approximately 6,000 units made.
Known for its high resolution and sharp rendering, it earned the nickname Razor Elmar. The image is clean and clear with natural color reproduction.
Weighing just 231g, it is remarkably compact and lightweight for a 90mm lens, making it especially attractive.
A truly excellent lens, offering outstanding image quality, classic styling, and a satisfying tactile experience.
Light scuff marks from use can be seen on the helicoid and aperture rings, but overall it retains a clean appearance with minimal signs of wear.
Fully overhauled in June 2025. The aperture and helicoid operations are now smooth and refined. Rangefinder coupling is perfectly accurate, delivering sharp focus even at maximum aperture.
The glass is free from wipe marks or haze, offering a clear and bright view. Test shots also yielded excellent results with crisp rendering.
Comes with original front and rear caps, and a leather case.
