W-Nikkor.C 35mm f2.5, a wide-angle lens for the Nikon S series. This is the later version, featuring a lightweight aluminum barrel finished in beautiful black paint. It weighs approximately 110g on our scale, making it light and compact. The optical design is a Double Gauss type with 6 elements in 4 groups. Distance scale in feet. This example has a small EP mark engraved on the stopper.
With its recessed, funnel-shaped front design, it looks wonderfully sharp and dignified when mounted on a Nikon S series camera. The lens is sufficiently fast, and even wide open, it delivers high resolving power in the center. Its rendering, with some natural fall-off toward the edges, creates images with a lovely atmosphere.
A handsome black-barrel lens with excellent optical performance. It can be thoroughly enjoyed not only on Nikon S series cameras, but also on modern mirrorless cameras.
The original metal round hood for this lens is a rare accessory. However, thanks to the deeply recessed front element and naturally hood-like shape, the lens still delivers excellent results even without a hood.
The barrel is extremely clean, showing almost no signs of use. Both the matte black paint and the bright chrome-plated parts retain a wonderful atmosphere reminiscent of when it was new.
It has also been well stored, and both the aperture ring and helicoid operate with an exceptionally smooth feel. All functions have been inspected by our shop, and the rangefinder coupling is also accurate.
There are a few extremely faint cleaning marks on the rear element, but they should have virtually no effect on image quality. Overall, the glass is beautifully clear and bright. The results of our test shooting were also excellent.
Comes with the original black aluminum front cap, rear cap with EP mark, English depth-of-field table, Japanese instruction manual, and original box, although the serial number on the box does not match.
Highly recommended for collectors as well!
