※About rarity

Leica M4 Black Chrome. Leitz product code is 10402. Serial number falls in the 1.38 million range, manufactured in 1974. Made in Germany. This is a domestically distributed official product handled by Schmidt Shokai.

The M4 was introduced as the successor to the M3 and M2, and is still beloved by many enthusiasts today for its overall ease of use. It features bright frames for 35/50/90/135mm lenses. The film advance lever, designed to avoid interference with the Leica Meter, was later inherited by the M6 and M7 models.

The black chrome body of the M4 not only complements black lenses, but also pairs subtly and beautifully with chrome lenses—another appealing point.

There are hardly any signs of use. A slight fading is visible near the film counter on the top cover, but otherwise this M4 is in beautiful condition. The strap lugs show no signs of having had a strap attached and retain their deep black finish. Wear on the lens mount is extremely minimal.

Overhauled by a professional technician in July 2025, the camera operates smoothly throughout, and the viewfinder is clean and clear.

It comes with a body cap, a matching serial number box in excellent condition, two warranty cards (from Leitz and Schmidt respectively), a Japanese manual from Schmidt, and even the original plastic sleeve bearing the serial number.
