Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8. This is the earlier version featuring a hood-mounting pin at the front end of the barrel.
Serial number in the 2.76 million range, manufactured in 1976. It is a 3-cam version, released in the same year the R3 debuted and the 3-cam system was introduced.
Leitz product code: 11205.
Optical design consists of 6 elements in 5 groups. The lens is recessed, eliminating the need for a separate hood, making it perfectly usable as-is.
It offers excellent resolution and beautifully balanced rendering, with smooth and cohesive bokeh.
Filter size is E60; the matching hood is 12514.
While it focuses down to a 1:2 ratio on its own, pairing it with the Macro Adapter-R (14256) allows for 1:1 life-size reproduction.
A superb lens to enjoy on Leica R-series cameras, and highly recommended for use on modern mirrorless systems as well.
There is minor paint loss on the black finish, but overall the lens shows little signs of use and remains in very good cosmetic condition.
In 2019, it underwent a full CLA (overhaul) by a professional technician under the previous owner's care.
Thanks to the thorough servicing and proper storage, the aperture and helicoid still operate with exceptional smoothness.
The front element shows slight coating deterioration and a few very light cleaning marks, but none of these affect image quality.
Includes the original matching-number box, instruction manual, a caution note for use with the Macro Adapter 14256, the original warranty card, front and rear caps, and a genuine UVa filter.
