※About rarity

Dual Range Summicron 50mm f2, early type close-focus Summicron. Serial number in the 1.59 million range, manufactured in 1958. Leitz code name SOOIC-MN or SOMNI, later designated 11918. The helicoid has feet scale engravings.
When using a 50mm lens on an M-mount film Leica, there are often situations where you wish you could move just a bit closer. This DR Summicron is one of the best solutions.
On its own, the lens focuses down to 1 meter. With the goggles attached, it allows close-ups to around 0.5 meters, with parallax correction at the same time. The superb mechanical precision and flawless movement showcase Leitz craftsmanship at its peak.
Note that it cannot be used with digital M-mount Leicas because it interferes with the rangefinder roller. However, it works without issue on the current M11.
For close-up shooting without the goggles on the M11 or mirrorless cameras, a few simple techniques make it possible. Feel free to ask if you would like to know more.

The exterior is in excellent condition with hardly any signs of wear, including the finder optics. Fully overhauled in September 2025, including the glasses. The aperture ring offers a pleasant click feeling, and the helicoid moves smoothly without stress. Focusing is accurate, and rangefinder coupling has been confirmed on the M11.
There are a few tiny spots of glass deterioration on the rear element, and under strong LED light a very faint haze-like deterioration of the coating can be seen on the middle element, but these should not affect image quality. Hardly any cleaning marks are visible, and the glass remains clear and bright. The finder optics are also clean.
Test shots produced excellent results.
