In this feature, we are introducing 13 FISON hoods all at once, and this is the 13th version. Finally, we have reached the last one! 13/13
With retaining screw, all brass, satin chrome, straight front edge.
FISON lens hood for the Elmar 50mm. Chrome finish. The code name was later changed to 12510.
FISON hoods came in many different types over the years, making them a very enjoyable accessory to study from a historical perspective.
This example has a satin chrome finish. The plating is finer in texture, giving it a more matte, whitish, and fresh appearance. The rounded edge at the front of the hood has also almost disappeared, resulting in a straight profile.
However, the most significant difference from earlier FISON hoods is probably that the rib, or step, on the base of the hood has been omitted. Although the rib was removed, the hood itself appears to have been made slightly thicker, giving the impression of even greater rigidity than previous versions. A fine example of Leitz craftsmanship at its peak. The measured weight is 17.7g.
This is likely the penultimate model of the FISON. After this version, the engraving on the base of the hood changed to capital letters, bringing the long history of the FISON to a close.
There are many fine scratches on the plating. No dents or dings are visible. It is in practical user condition. Mounting on a lens has been checked. Comes with the original box from the good old days.
