Leica Super-Angulon-R 21mm f/4 (3-Cam). Serial No. 316xxxx, made in 1981. Leitz catalog No. 11813.
Introduced in 1968 for the Leicaflex SL, this ultra-wide lens features a compact rear design that eliminates the need for mirror lock-up. This is the later 3-Cam version, introduced from 1977 and produced until 1992.
OEM-produced by Schneider, it was Leica’s first retrofocus design—built with 10 elements in 8 groups for outstanding sharpness, minimal distortion, and excellent light falloff control.
Close focusing down to 0.2m. Distance scale marked in both feet and meters.
Shows minimal wear with slight black chrome loss from normal use, but no noticeable scratches or dings. Overall, the exterior is in excellent condition.
All functions operate smoothly—aperture clicks cleanly, and the focusing helicoid turns with proper resistance.
Under strong LED light, a few tiny coating marks can be seen on the glass, but there are no cleaning marks and the optics remain bright and clear. These minor imperfections should have no impact on image quality.
Includes a Kenko UV filter, front and rear caps, and the original 12506 lens hood.
