An early Leitz compact tripod head—FIAKU. Large thread type. Nickel-plated finish. Believed to be a product from the early 1930s. It locks firmly with just light tightening, showcasing the impressive precision of its machining.
This particular unit is a rare variation of the FIAKU, featuring the locking wing screw mounted on the opposite side from the usual design.
There are minor scuffs, but no noticeable scratches or dings. The nickel finish has aged beautifully, giving it a superb vintage character.
Tested and confirmed to fit perfectly with our Barnack Leica. The locking screw secures tightly with minimal effort—functioning flawlessly.
Some wear is visible around the tripod mounting area, but considering its age, this is a remarkably well-preserved tripod head.
