Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f2.8. This is the earlier version with a hood attachment pin at the front end of the barrel. Serial number in the 2,970,000 range, manufactured in 1979. It features the 3-cam mount. Leica product code is 11205.
Optical design consists of 5 groups and 6 elements. The front element is recessed into the barrel, eliminating the need for a separate lens hood, making it perfectly usable even without one. It delivers high resolution and well-controlled, smooth bokeh, offering a beautifully balanced rendering.
Filter size is E60. The dedicated 12514 hood can accommodate a Series 8 filter inserted between the elements.
The lens alone allows close focusing up to a 1:2 magnification ratio, and when paired with the Macro-Adapter-R (14256), it enables 1:1 life-size reproduction.
This is a superb lens, ideal for use on Leica R-series cameras as well as modern mirrorless bodies.

There is noticeable paint loss across the barrel from use, but no dents or impact marks. The 12514 hood is in excellent condition with no signs of wear.
All mechanical functions, including the aperture and focusing helicoid, operate smoothly, and there is no sign of oil on the aperture blades.
The lens surfaces show some coating deterioration, and there is a very faint cleaning mark on the rear element, but these should have little to no effect on actual image quality.
A genuine Series 8 UVa filter (13018) and 12514 hood are included.
A practical and highly usable lens.
