※About rarity

Serial number 1075xxx. This is a Leica M2 Black Paint model, shipped on August 5, 1963, equipped with a self-timer. A boldly used yet handsome example of the classic black paint finish. All parts, including the vulcanite covering, are original.

This is a very well-preserved M2 Black Paint. Recently serviced and refreshed, it offers smooth operation throughout—making it an excellent choice for practical use as well.

There is some slight gloss developing on areas where fingers naturally rest, as well as on the top plate and baseplate. However, the other surfaces of the top cover still retain the original matte finish, with that powdery texture typical of new black paint. The film advance lever shows a beautiful patina with a bit of bubbling, adding to the charm. There are no dings or dents—this M2 Black Paint has clearly been carefully looked after.

The vulcanite covering is fully original with no missing pieces or damage, and the texture is still well-defined throughout.

Fully overhauled in March 2025. Thanks to meticulous servicing, the film advance, shutter release, and other operations feel smooth and refined. The viewfinder is bright and clear, with no sign of separation or balsam separation.

A fully original Leica M2 Black Paint—ideal both as a collector's piece and for practical use.
