※About rarity

Hektor 50mm f/2.5. Nickel-plated finish. Serial number in the 130,000 range, manufactured in 1931. Leica product code: HEKTOR.
Optical construction consists of 6 elements in 3 groups. Distance scale in meters. Uncoated. The infinity lock button is the pin-type. Helicoid number 5.
Although the helicoid is a full-rotation type, the back of the lock button has been securely screwed in place to allow for smooth operation even when using an adapter. This modification is reversible and can be restored to its original state.

At wide apertures, it delivers a soft, atmospheric rendering. The Hektor 5cm is notorious for having issues with focus accuracy, image formation, and rangefinder coupling, making it one of those risky lenses that you can't buy without testing. However, this particular unit has perfect rangefinder coupling and performs flawlessly.

The infinity stop pin shows exposed brass, but otherwise, the nickel plating remains in good condition with minimal wear, making for a rather clean appearance.

Fully overhauled in 2024. Thanks to careful servicing, the aperture and helicoid still operate with a smooth, dampened feel. The matte lacquer on the inner barrel has also been meticulously refinished to enhance internal reflection control, contributing to a tighter, more refined image quality.

The front element has cleaning marks, and both the front and rear elements show noticeable yellowing due to aging. Under strong backlighting, some image impact may be observed.

Test shots have produced excellent results. Sample images have been uploaded to our sample gallery, all taken wide open without a lens hood. We invite you to take a look.
