※About rarity

This is a pre-war, uncoated Elmar 35mm f/3.5. Leitz product code: EKURZCHROM.
Serial number in the 490,000 range, manufactured in 1939. Distance scale in feet.
Optical design: 3 groups, 4 elements. Uncoated.

Among Leitz lenses, it’s one of the slimmest designs—second only to the Hektor 28mm—making it extremely portable and easy to carry around.

At full aperture, the center is sharp, while the distinctive falloff toward the edges creates a unique rendering. Though a traditionally designed lens, it offers surprisingly deep character when thoroughly used, and in recent years it has been gaining renewed appreciation.

Compatible hoods include FLQOO and FOOKH. Our original FB-07 hood with aperture control is also fully compatible without vignetting and has been well received by users.

The barrel shows only minimal scuffing from use and very slight plating corrosion in places, but there are no noticeable scratches or dings, and overall, it presents a very clean appearance.

The previous owner had the lens fully overhauled. Both the aperture ring and focusing helicoid operate smoothly and without resistance. The internal flat black lacquer coating was also neatly redone, helping to improve contrast and overall image rendering.

The glass is free from cleaning marks or haze—clear and bright with excellent transparency. Test shots yielded outstanding results.

Comes with the original front lens cap.
