Summilux 50mm f/1.4 – 2nd Generation, Black Chrome Finish
This is the 2nd-generation Summilux 50mm f/1.4 in black chrome finish, bearing Leitz product code 11114, with a serial number in the 2.62 million range, manufactured in 1973. It features a 5-group, 7-element optical design. Compatible accessories include the E43 filter and 12586 lens hood.
With the updated optical design of the second generation, the lens delivers noticeably sharper performance at wide apertures, while still retaining the distinctive Summilux character.
Despite its fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, the lens remains relatively lightweight and compact—an appreciated feature for everyday use. Actual measured weight is 284g.
Its black finish pairs beautifully with modern mirrorless cameras and digital Leica M bodies, making it a truly versatile standard lens. A classic representation of Leica’s optical craftsmanship.
There is a very slight scuff near the front edge of the barrel, but overall the lens is in exceptionally clean condition with minimal signs of use.
It was recently fully overhauled by the previous owner, and all operations remain smooth and precise. Rangefinder coupling is perfectly accurate, and focus performance is excellent.
Complementing its beautiful exterior, the glass is remarkably clean with no noticeable cleaning marks or haze. Test shots also delivered excellent results.
A truly satisfying 2nd-generation Summilux—ready to be enjoyed with confidence.
