This is an early version of the 2nd generation, featuring the white (silver) barrel.

Often referred to as the aristocrat, this model retains the elegant appearance of the 1st generation silver barrel design—shortly after, the lens would be updated with a black barrel.
Optical construction: 7 elements in 5 groups.
While the exterior closely resembles the 1st generation, the lens design was revised to include an air-spaced element, resulting in improved sharpness at wider apertures.

While the soft and dreamy rendering of the 1st generation has its own charm, the 2nd generation Summilux offers a more defined image core when shot wide open—striking a superb balance that has earned it a strong following.
It is truly an all-round performer.

Compatible hoods include XOOIM, 12521G, and 12586.

There is a single, extremely minor ding on the edge of the filter ring, but it does not affect filter attachment.
Overall, the lens shows minimal signs of use and boasts a beautiful appearance.

Fully overhauled in April 2025, including precise focus and rangefinder coupling adjustment.
Thanks to meticulous servicing, both the aperture ring and helicoid offer a smooth, refined operation.
Rangefinder coupling is spot-on, and focus accuracy is excellent.

When inspected under a strong LED light, the inner elements show only very slight coating deterioration and two or three extremely faint cleaning marks.
These have virtually no impact on image quality.
There is no haze, and the glass condition is overall excellent.
Test shots also yielded outstanding results. The coating remains intact across the entire surface.

Well-preserved 2nd version Summilux lenses with both excellent optics and appearance have become increasingly rare in recent years.
Comes with original front and rear caps.
