Leica screw mount and Nikon S mount-compatible lens hood for the Nikkor 50mm f1.4. It features a 43mm diameter, two-part screw-in design, model AN-43mm. The early version of the hood was made of aluminum, but this is the final version, made of brass with a black coating.

A Series 7 filter can be inserted between the hood and the base of the hood.

According to the included English manual, in addition to the 50mm f1.4, this hood is compatible with the Nikon S-mount Nikkor 35mm f2.5 and 35mm f3.5 lenses. It is also noted that the hood may cause vignetting with the 28mm f3.5 lens. Additionally, early versions of the S-mount 35mm f3.5 lens do not have filter threads and cannot accommodate the hood.

The charming design of the original box was created by Yuusaku Kamekura, a leading Japanese graphic designer known for his work on the logos for the Nikon F, the Good Design Award, Olympic posters for both the Tokyo and Sapporo Olympics, the Osaka Expo poster, and logos for NTT and Fuji TV. The design adds a touch of elegance to any collection shelf.
