※About rarity

Micro-Nikkor 5cm f3.5, for Nikon S series. Released in 1956. It features a 4-element, 5-group Xenotar-type design and a collapsible structure. The filter thread size is 34.5mm.

This is the first lens in Nikon's 35mm range to bear the Micro-NIKKOR name. It was designed for creating microfilm for duplicating purposes. With a resolution of 300 lines per millimeter, this lens offers exceptional performance that still holds up today. During our in-store test shots, we are consistently impressed by its capabilities.

Only about 1,200 units were produced in total for both Nikon rangefinder and Leica mounts, making it a somewhat rare lens.

The lens shows minimal signs of use and is in excellent condition, with no dents or dings.

A full overhaul was completed in April 2025. Thanks to the meticulous servicing, the aperture ring and collapsible lock operate smoothly. The anti-reflective matte lacquer on the inside of the lens barrel has been carefully reapplied, ensuring improved contrast and sharper rendering.

The glass has a few very shallow cleaning marks on both the front and rear elements, but they have no impact on actual performance. There is no fogging, and the glass is clear and sharp. Sample shots have been uploaded to the test gallery, and I hope you’ll take a look.

The lens comes with the original front and rear caps.
