This example is a later model with the 50mm marking and large capital-letter engraving, giving it a more modern appearance.
Like many of Leitz's standard accessories, the SBOOI has more than eight known variations. This particular one features knurled grips on both sides for slip resistance, a black-painted eyepiece side, and a single retaining screw under the shoe.
No signs of use are visible. There are no traces of it ever being mounted on a camera, and the condition is as close to new as it gets. So pristine, it's almost too beautiful to use—a finder's dilemma that belongs in a collection.
The glass is just as flawless as the gorgeous exterior, crystal clear with no haze. The clarity of the view is simply outstanding.
Comes with its original box from the good old days, circa the late 1950s. A rare and exceptional condition.
