The Distagon 35mm f/2 is a wide-angle lens for the Contarex system, featuring a black barrel finish.
It was produced from 1965 to 1973.
This particular example, with a serial number in the 3,690,000 range, was manufactured in 1965.
Production was relatively limited, with only 3,150 units made.
The lens features an optical construction of 9 elements in 8 groups.
It offers a very close minimum focusing distance of 22 cm.
The measured weight is 423g.
The lens shows minimal signs of use and has a clean, attractive appearance.
The black finish and vivid red lettering give it a sharp, striking impression.
Fully overhauled in April 2025, the helicoid now operates with very smooth precision.
There are very faint fungus traces remaining on both the front and rear elements, which could not be completely removed during servicing.
Additionally, there is some coating deterioration across the lens surfaces, and a slight haze remains around the edges of the inner elements.
However, none of these issues are expected to affect actual shooting performance.
The lens comes with its original front cap and a plastic case, with matching serial numbers on both the case and the lens body.
