The Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH. is the fifth-generation Elmarit 28mm, featuring an aspherical lens element. It is the predecessor to the current screw-in hood model (11677). The current Leica product code for this version is 11606.
With a serial number in the 4,000,000 range, this lens was manufactured in 2004 and comes equipped with 6-bit coding. It has an 8-element, 6-group optical design, a minimum focusing distance of 0.7m, and weighs just 180g, making it impressively lightweight. Despite its compact and portable design, it offers ample brightness for a wide-angle lens. The filter size is E39.
