※About rarity

Made by Nippon Kogaku. Nikon S mount, early type W-Nikkor.C 3.5cm f2.5. Introduced in 1952. At the time of its release, it was the brightest 35mm lens available and gained popularity due to its relatively affordable price.
Constructed with a 4-group 6-element double Gauss design. Feet scale. The brass chrome-plated barrel gives it a solid build, weighing 179 g.
This particular example carries the EP mark on the mount lock, and the included rear cap is also engraved with the EP mark. EP stands for Exchange Post, the designation given to cameras and lenses sold at post exchanges for the occupying forces, such as the U.S. Army stores and the Navy (handled by Orient Trading).

There are only very slight signs of use, but overall it is in excellent condition. The chrome plating shows no deterioration and still shines beautifully. Fully overhauled in August 2025. The operation of the aperture and helicoid is very smooth, and the rangefinder coupling with Nikon S bodies is spot on. The front element shows two to three extremely faint wipe marks and the rear element has a small pinpoint scratch, but these will have virtually no impact on actual photography. No haze is present and the glass is clean and clear. Comes with front and rear caps, viewfinder, case, and original box. The viewfinder also offers a bright and clear image.
