※About rarity

2nd generation Summicron 35mm f/2 with 6 elements. Leica product code: 11309. Manufactured in 1975 with a serial number in the 2.74 million range. This is the version without the horn, made in Canada. Filter thread size: E39.

Often overshadowed by the popular 8-element version, the 6-element variant holds its own with plenty of character and performance. From the well-balanced helicoid rotation angle and the focus tab that fits naturally to your fingertip, to the slightly subdued color rendering and gently crisp image quality—this lens is packed with charm.

Weighing in at a measured 181g, it's a lightweight and compact lens that pairs perfectly with Leica M bodies.

There is a very slight loss of black chrome on the aperture ring, but otherwise, the exterior is in excellent condition with virtually no signs of use. The mount surface also retains its beautiful, mirror-like shine.

Fully overhauled in March 2025. The aperture ring, which can often feel loose on this model, now has a firm and precise click. The helicoid ring turns smoothly with a nicely damped feel. Rangefinder coupling is perfectly accurate.

There is a faint stain-like mark on the inner element—likely coating degradation—that becomes just barely visible under a strong LED light, but it has virtually no effect on actual image quality. Apart from that, the glass is clean and clear, with no noticeable cleaning marks or haze. Test shots produced excellent results.
