The early version of the Summilux 50mm f1.4, beautifully finished in chrome. Commonly known as the Lady, or the 1st version. The Leitz product code was SOOME, later changed to 11114. This example has a serial number in the 1.70 million range and was made in 1959, the first year of production. Filter size is E43. Compatible hoods are the XOOIM, 12521G, and 12586.

The pre-redesign 1st version Summilux 50mm is a popular lens prized for its beautifully soft rendering at or near wide open. Stop it down just one stop and the image becomes noticeably crisper, with excellent three-dimensionality. A remarkably versatile lens offering a wide range of expressive possibilities.

Its elegant and beautiful finish, which earned it the nickname Lady, looks perfectly at home not only on period M3 and M2 bodies, but also on modern digital Leica cameras. A timeless and superb design.

A true all-rounder.

A very nice example of the Lady, 1st version. There are a few small marks and light scuffs around the front of the barrel, along with minor scuff marks on the helicoid ring and its base, but overall the lens has a clean and well-kept appearance.

A full overhaul, including focus adjustment, was completed in July 2026. Both the aperture and helicoid now operate exceptionally smoothly. Rangefinder coupling is spot-on, with focus locking in beautifully even wide open.

The glass is clear and bright, with no haze or noticeable scratches. For a first-generation Summilux, the optics are in remarkably clean condition. A fine example that allows you to fully enjoy the lens's original rendering.

It comes with a XOOIM hood, E43 UVa filter, hood cap, and rear cap. All accessories are genuine period-correct Leitz items, making this a ready-to-use set for immediate shooting.
