※About rarity

Dual Range Summicron 50mm f2, early type of the close-focus Summicron. Serial number in the 1.59 million range, made in 1958. Leica’s code names were SOOIC-MN or SOMNI, later becoming 11918. The focusing scale on the helicoid is in feet.
The lens alone focuses down to 1 m, and when the goggles are attached it allows close-up photography to around 0.5 m while simultaneously providing parallax correction. The precision workmanship and beautifully smooth operation are exactly what you would expect from Leica at its peak.
It is one of the best solutions for those moments when you wish you could get just a bit closer.
Please note that it cannot be used on digital Leica M bodies other than the M11, as the goggles interfere with the rangefinder roller. The M11 has no such issue.
For close-up shooting on the M11 or mirrorless cameras without the goggles, a small technique makes it possible. Feel free to ask if you would like to know the details.

Light scuff marks can be seen on the lens barrel and goggles, but there are no noticeable scratches or dings, giving the lens an overall clean appearance.
The lens received a full overhaul in November 2025. Thanks to meticulous servicing, both the aperture and helicoid now operate with smooth precision. Rangefinder coupling is perfect, and focus accuracy has been confirmed on the M11 as well.
The glass shows only the slightest trace of coating wear, with no scratches or haze, resulting in a crisp and beautifully clear view. The optics in the goggles are also clean. Test shots produced excellent results.
