Dallmeyer Anastigmat 2-inch f/1.5 (Approx. 50mm). 7 elements in 4 groups optical design—one additional element compared to the Super-Six.
This is a carefully converted Leica M-mount rangefinder-coupled lens, originally a Dallmeyer cine lens. It had previously undergone a different modification, but as we were unsatisfied with the quality, we reworked it entirely in-house. The result is a seamlessly natural look, as if it were originally designed this way.
This lens is believed to be from the period just before the famous Septac, featuring the same optical formula. The barrel bears the DC (Dall Coated) mark, and like the Septac and Super-Six, it has a delicate light blue coating. The weight is 297g, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.7m.
As expected from a large-aperture Dallmeyer lens, its rendering is delicate, refined, and deeply evocative. Near wide open, it produces a soft veil of glow, yet remains beautifully detailed. By stopping down to f/2.8, the contrast dramatically increases, transforming into a bold and powerful imaging style.
A rare gem, capable of capturing images rich in emotion and expressiveness—truly the pinnacle of Dallmeyer craftsmanship.
The black paint on the front barrel shows some wear, but the rest of the exterior remains in quite beautiful condition. The custom-made aluminum intermediate ring adds a distinctive touch.
Fully overhauled in February 2025, including a complete servicing of the lens head and a reconversion to Leica M-mount. The meticulously refined design gives it an authentic look, making it hard to believe it’s a modified lens.
Thanks to thorough servicing, the aperture ring, helicoid, and all operational parts move smoothly, and the rangefinder coupling is perfectly calibrated from infinity to the minimum focus distance of 0.7m.
The glass surfaces have numerous cleaning marks, which is unfortunate for such a rare and prestigious lens. Under strong backlight conditions, this may result in a slightly hazy appearance.
Test shots revealed the classic Septac-like rendering—a delicate balance of softness and intricate detail, producing stunning wide-open images. Sample images are available in our test gallery—we hope you take a look.
Includes a 40.5–43mm step-up ring and a 43mm filter.
