The book on Leica lens serial numbers by researcher Hartmut Thiele, published in its 4th edition in 2022, consists of 150 pages and is written entirely in German. It documents Leica lenses produced between 1930 and 2016.

This valuable reference provides information on manufacturing batches, including corresponding serial number ranges, mounts, filter sizes, production years, manufacturing locations, internal product codes (such as HEKON), and the number of lens elements.

Although it is exclusively in German, AI translation via a smartphone camera allows for instant translation—truly a remarkable era we live in.

The book organizes Leica and Leitz lenses, which have been in production for many years, into three different lists:
1) A list arranged in order of serial numbers, starting with the Elmar 50mm f3.5 at #92201.
2) A list categorized alphabetically by lens name, then ordered by serial number.
3) A list categorized by mount type, then further organized by lens name and serial number.

Additionally, the book provides details on manufacturing locations, including Wetzlar, Midland, Solms, Schneider, Zeiss, Japan, and Minolta.

This is a directly imported new book. However, as it is a foreign publication, there may be slight scuffs or minor creases on the corners despite being new. Please understand this in advance.

The price includes domestic shipping and tax.
