One-piece construction, engraved, narrow ribbed design, no retaining screw.

A lens hood for the Elmar 50mm f3.5.
This is the type that followed the rectangular hood for the very earliest Leica Model A, and is an early screwless FISON model. Brass with black paint.

It is an older one-piece construction model, and ribbing was introduced from this version to increase strength. This example appears to be an early example of that type, with narrower ribs than later models.

The actual weight is approximately 11.1g.
Boldly engraved with Leitz Wetzlar in silver inlay, this early Leica lens hood has a truly commanding presence.

It shows relatively little sign of use and has a nice overall appearance. The paint texture remains strong, and the silver inlay is still present. Considering that more than 90 years have passed, this is certainly a very good example.

Test-fitted on an A36 Elmar. This type is fitted by adjusting the tabs, but please be extremely careful not to snap them off during adjustment.
