The IROOA is one of Leica’s classic, go-to lens hoods. This example is the early type, characterized by a slightly longer hood length than later versions. It fits lenses with an E39 filter thread, also known as a 39mm screw-in thread.

As this is an early IROOA, the engraving lists only the Summaron 3.5cm and Summicron 5cm, but it can also be used with lenses such as the Summicron 35mm f2 8-element and Elmar 50mm f2.8.

Compatible with many lenses, its simple and stylish design makes it a very useful hood to have. It enhances the look of your lens while also serving perfectly as a functional lens hood. A fine product from the golden age of Leitz.

There is some paint loss and small marks around the front end, and the plated section at the base shows rather noticeable rubbing and shine. The inside of the hood also shows rubbing and some signs of use, but overall it is in a condition that can be used without hesitation. Ideal for everyday use.
