Leica M2 early model with the popular button rewind feature. This unit does not have a self-timer, offering a sleek and clean appearance. Serial number in the 930,000 range, manufactured in 1958. The codename is KOOHE.
All parts are original from the time of manufacture. The tripod screw is of the fine-thread type. The bright frame displays 35mm, 50mm, and 90mm focal lengths individually.
Among the early M2 models with the push-button rewind, this is a later version where the rewind button is locked. This improves the usability of the M2 with a button rewind.
The finely slit, inner toothed light window is different from later M2 models, giving it a more modern look. This camera pairs beautifully with chrome wide-angle lenses like the steel-rimmed or 8-element lenses, and it's a great match with the Leicavit MP for stylish, fun snapshot photography.
The camera is in excellent working condition with a pleasant feel during use.
There are some light scratches and slight wear around the Leica logo on the top cover and on the bottom plate. There is a small scratch on the left side of the front, near the carrying ring, but there are no dents or significant damage, and overall, the camera retains a clean and tidy appearance.
There is one small scratch on the coating of the viewfinder eyepiece window, but it is located at the left edge of the circle, so it does not affect the view.
This M2 button rewind model exudes a great atmosphere, having been carefully used, and offers a comfortable experience for both practical use and enjoyment.
