※About rarity

The 2nd-generation Summicron 35mm f2, also known as the 6-element version. Leica product code is 11309. Manufactured in 1975 with a serial number in the 2,730,000 range. This is the non-goggled version, made in Canada, with an E39 filter thread. Following in the footsteps of the first-generation 8-element version, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find 6-element Summicrons in excellent condition these days.

Often overshadowed by its 8-element predecessor, the 6-element Summicron has plenty of charm and performance to offer. From the perfectly balanced helicoid throw and the focus tab that feels just right under your fingertips, to its slightly muted color tones and pleasantly soft rendering, this lens is full of character. At just 180g, it’s lightweight and compact, making it an ideal match for Leica M cameras.

The lens barrel shows minimal signs of wear, with barely any paint loss on the edges. Its overall appearance is beautifully preserved, with a rich black finish that’s still striking. Fully overhauled in December 2024, the aperture and focus helicoid operate with a smoothness that feels effortless, and rangefinder coupling is spot-on.

The optics are equally impressive, with no scratches or haze—just crystal-clear glass with excellent clarity. The original coating is intact across all lens surfaces, and test shots produced outstanding results.

Included with the lens are the original rear cap, a reproduction front cap, a third-party filter, and the original box.
