※About rarity

The APO-Summicron-M 75mm f2 ASPH. is a current model with a 6-bit code. Leica product code is 11637, with a serial number in the 3 million range, manufactured in 2005. It has a 5-element, 7-group design, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.7m and a filter diameter of E49.

By incorporating an apochromatic lens and one aspherical element, it achieves excellent correction of aberrations with a minimal number of lens elements. The rear group features a floating structure. The sharp, resolution-rich rendering at wide open aperture leaves a strong impression.

The 75mm focal length offers a medium telephoto perspective, extending the capabilities of a 50mm lens. It provides a familiar feeling of shooting with a standard lens and is easy to use with a rangefinder, thanks to its reasonably visible frame.

There are no signs of use, and the appearance is very clean, almost like new.

It has undergone a full overhaul in December 2024. The operation of the aperture and helicoid is extremely smooth. The glass shows no noticeable scratches or fog, and the image is beautifully clear.

The rangefinder coupling is spot on from close up to around 3m at wide open aperture. From around 5m to infinity, there is a slight tendency for back focus, so for mid-range and beyond, shooting with live view is recommended. The lens offers high resolution and beautiful bokeh, making it perfect for use with digital mirrorless cameras like the Leica SL series.

The original box with matching serial number, an unused warranty card, inspection certificate, instruction manual, and front and rear caps are included. The case is not included.
