Summilux 50mm f1.4. Leica's product code: SOOME / 11114. This is the second-generation Summilux, which inherits almost the exact design of the first-generation white-barrel Summilux. Serial number 2,070,000 range, manufactured in 1964. This is an early version of the second-generation white-barrel model, which was later replaced by the black-barrel version.
It features a 7-element, 5-group optical design. While its appearance is nearly identical to the first-generation Summilux, the lens design was revised, improving sharpness at wider apertures. The soft rendering of the first-generation model has its own charm, but the second-generation Summilux strikes a perfect balance, offering more defined sharpness at f/1.4 while maintaining a beautiful character. It is a versatile lens with a large fan base.
The filter size is E43, and compatible hoods include XOOIM, 12521G, and 12586.
The lens barrel is exceptionally clean, with almost no signs of use.
Fully overhauled in February 2025. Thanks to meticulous maintenance, the aperture ring and helicoid operate smoothly and comfortably. The rangefinder coupling is also in excellent condition.
There are two extremely faint and short cleaning marks on the internal lens element, but aside from that, there are no noticeable scratches or haze, making this an exceptionally clean glass. In recent years, it has become increasingly rare to find this lens in such pristine optical condition. The coating is fully intact.
The test shots yielded excellent results, and this lens is in a remarkably rare condition. A great choice for collectors as well.
Includes a replica front cap and an original rear cap.
