This is the original hood for the early version of the Summilux 35mm f1.4, commonly known as the Steel Rim. The previous code was OLLUX. This particular item is version 3, designated as 12522H. For reference, versions 1 and 2 are marked as OLLUX, while version 4 is labeled as 12522.

The beloved Steel Rim spherical Summilux 35mm f1.4 was introduced at the 1960 Photokina as the world's brightest wide-angle lens and has continued to be cherished with various shape modifications, including the filter thread, until the introduction of the ASPH version.

The OLLUX hood is beautifully designed and not only serves its function as a hood but also enhances the refined design of the early Summilux 35mm lens. Its unique snap-on attachment method is very distinctive and truly reflects Leitz's craftsmanship.
