※About rarity

Leica M4-P. This example has a serial number in the 1.54 million range and was manufactured in 1981, the first year of M4-P production. The Leitz product code is 10415. Made by Leitz Canada.

This is an early version with a brass top plate. On later models, the top plate was changed to zinc die-cast construction. It also features two flash sync terminals, which were later reduced to one.

With the M4-P, Leica added the 75mm bright-line frame to accommodate the Summilux-M 75mm f1.4, introduced in 1980. This was the first Leica M model to adopt the six-frame system still used in current Leica cameras, with 35/135mm, 50/75mm, and 28/90mm frame lines displayed in pairs.

The Leica M4-P has been steadily gaining popularity in recent years. This example shows virtually no signs of use and is in exceptionally hard-to-find condition!

There are no scuffs or scratches, and virtually no signs of use. It is an exceptionally clean example that still retains much of the feel of a brand-new camera.

A full overhaul was completed in August 2026. All functions operate smoothly, and the film advance has a very smooth feel. The finder is also clear and bright.

The original cap, English instruction manual, and original box are included. The serial number on the box does not match the camera. The box shows signs of use.

Comes with our six-month warranty from the date of purchase. Even after the warranty period, we can provide maintenance and repair services for a fee. We hope you will enjoy using it for many years to come.
