※About rarity

TESOG 50mm f3.5, made by Officine Galileo in Italy. This lens follows a Tessar-type design with 4 elements in 3 groups and is in Leica screw mount (LTM), rangefinder-coupled, with distance markings in meters.

It is believed that this lens was produced for the Italian Leica copy, the Gamma camera. The lens features a beautiful light blue coating. While Officine Galileo's L-mount lenses such as the Eptamitar 50mm f2 and Esaog 50mm f2 are known, they are all rare, and this f3.5 version is also extremely uncommon.

There is little to no reference in domestic or international literature, making this a lens shrouded in mystery. It comes with a rare original plastic case featuring Officine Galileo’s stylish logo. A true collector’s piece.

This lens was previously sold at our shop and has been well cared for by its owner. It has now returned to us. While the nameplate shows some signs of paint wear, the overall appearance is still clean with minimal signs of use.

It underwent a full overhaul in 2020, and thanks to the careful maintenance, both the aperture and focusing helicoid continue to operate smoothly, just like when it was last sold. The rangefinder coupling is also perfectly aligned.

The lens has a few very fine cleaning marks on the front element, and a faint trace of fungus on the inner edge of the front element, which could not be completely removed. However, there is no haze, and the lens is in clear, excellent condition. Sample images taken with the lens at wide open aperture are available in our gallery for reference.

This item was sold in-store while we were preparing it for sale. Thank you!
