This particular unit includes both the body and a C12 film back, both manufactured in 1959. As an early production model, it features the distinctive pair of holes on the front panel. The lens is an early 6-element Planar from 1956. Also included is a rare short-type early lens hood from the same era, along with a simple, original-style strap.

The body, lens, and magazine all boast a beautiful appearance. This Hasselblad 500C is in superb condition, showing minimal signs of use—an excellent piece more suited for a collection than for heavy practical use. There is some coating degradation on the finder loupe's glass, but it does not affect visibility.

In May 2025, the camera body, lens, and magazine underwent a complete overhaul. Thanks to this meticulous servicing, all operations now offer a smooth and satisfying feel. Full servicing of a Hasselblad can be quite costly, so acquiring a properly maintained unit is always a wise choice.

The 6-element Planar lens shows slight coating deterioration, but there is no haze or noticeable cleaning marks. Given that most early Planar lenses are often found in rough shape, this is a remarkably well-preserved example.
