Hektor 50mm f2.5 with nickel plating. Serial number in the 130,000 range. Manufactured in 1931. The product code by Leitz is HEKTOR.
The lens configuration consists of 3 groups and 6 elements, with distance markings in meters. It is uncoated, and the infinity lock button is of the pin type. The helicoid number is 5. While the helicoid is a full-circle type, it is modified for stress-free operation even when using an adapter, as the lock button is fixed with a screw (it can be restored to its original state).
The soft rendering near maximum aperture creates a lovely atmosphere. The Hektor 5cm is known for some examples having unreliable focusing and rangefinder coupling, making it a risky choice for photographers. However, this unit has perfect coupling and reliable performance.
The pin for the infinity stopper shows some brass, but overall, the nickel plating is in good condition with minimal wear, presenting a nice appearance.
We have ensured thoroughness by performing a full overhaul again for this sale. Thanks to meticulous maintenance, the operation of the aperture and helicoid has a smooth feel. The inner surface of the lens barrel has also been carefully repainted with a matte lacquer to prevent internal reflections.
The lens exhibits some cleaning marks on the front element, and both the front and rear elements show noticeable yellowing due to aging. Under strong backlighting conditions, there may be some slight impact on image quality.
The test shoot results are good, and I have published sample images in the trial shooting gallery. All photos were taken at maximum aperture without a hood. I would appreciate it if you take a look.
The original bakelite front cap is included.
