This is a replacement lens for the Miranda T, Japan's first pentaprism 35mm SLR camera released in 1955. It features a unique 44mm screw mount.
It has a preset aperture and the minimum focusing distance is 0.9m. The serial number is T.Y1812. The lens is coated.
Information about this Miranda 35mm f3.5 lens is quite scarce, as it seems to have been produced for a short period. It is said to have a 5-group, 6-element design. For the Miranda T, the available replacement lenses were this 35mm f3.5, a 135mm f3.5, and a Supreme 105mm f2.8 for the Reflexbox Mirax.
Based on its appearance, it is likely made by Fujita Optical.
The lens has a filter ring that doubles as a hood, and it accepts Series 6 filters. Weighing only 170g, it is a lightweight and compact wide-angle lens. It is rare.
The chrome plating has a slightly cheap shine, but the appearance is quite clean and attractive. There are no noticeable dents or dings.
The functionality of all parts is normal. There is slight coating wear, but no noticeable cleaning marks, and the glass remains in good condition.
Test shots have been taken. I would be happy if you check the sample shots in the gallery. All were taken at full aperture. At full aperture, the image is quite soft, with subdued color reproduction.
The original front cap is included.
