※About rarity

Angénieux Alpa 90mm f2.5 Manufactured by P. Angénieux in France. This is the first-generation medium telephoto lens for the Alpa Flex, with a 4-element, 4-group design. It was produced in 1947 and features coating. The filter diameter is 43mm screw-in.

Originally designed to be used with the EXTENSAL for mounting on the Alpa Flex, this particular lens has been luxuriously modified using a Cooke & Perkins rangefinder-coupled lens barrel. With its lightweight aluminum lens head and barrel, it weighs just 237g—about the same as a 50mm standard lens.

The combination of its compact length and light weight makes it exceptionally easy to use, even as a 90mm telephoto lens.

The lens head shows the typical fading and signs of use associated with Angénieux lenses. The Cook & Perkins rangefinder-coupled barrel, which closely resembles the Dallmeyer Dallac 85mm f2, is in quite good condition. The modification has been done with meticulous care, and the operation is excellent.

There are numerous light cleaning marks on the middle element, but the actual image results are very good. The staff is delighted by the portrayal of the Angénieux Y1 after a long time.

The rangefinder coupling is precise, from the minimum shooting distance to infinity, even more accurate than many Y1 original Leica screw mounts that tend to have issues.

Previous sample images are available for viewing, and we would appreciate it if you check them in the test gallery. All shots were taken wide open with the rangefinder.
