※About rarity

Elmar 35mm f/3.5, Leica screw mount. The product code is EKURZ. Manufactured in 1948. Coated. Distance scale in feet. Consisting of 4 elements in 3 groups.
Among Leitz products, this lens follows the slim design of the Hektor 28mm. Its thin profile makes it convenient for carrying.
With its wide-open aperture, it exhibits pleasing vignetting, adding character to images. Although conventional, with continued use, its depth becomes apparent, ensuring it remains an engaging lens. This particular piece features coatings that enhance its performance, promising more subdued rendering even in backlight or high-light situations.
Compatible hoods include FLQOO or FOOKH, but our original FB-07 hood, with aperture control functionality, is also available for use without any issues.

Some slight rubbing marks are visible on the base of the lens barrel, but there are no prominent scratches or chrome wear. Overall, it has a good appearance.
Fully serviced in 2024. Through meticulous maintenance, the focusing helicoid moves smoothly, and the aperture ring operates with just the right amount of resistance. The rangefinder coupling is spot on, ensuring precise focusing. The anti-reflective coating on the inner surface of the lens barrel has been carefully reapplied, promising crisp rendering.
There are a few very faint cleaning marks on the front and rear elements, around 2-3 each, but they are unlikely to affect image quality in practice. No haze or fungus is present, and the glass is clear. The results of practical shooting tests were also very satisfactory.
An original front cap is included.
