The Horseman SW612 is a 6x12 cm ultra-wide panoramic camera that was marketed by Komamura Shokai in 1995. It features interchangeable lenses and film holders, allowing for a versatile combination of ten different focal lengths ranging from 35mm to 135mm and three film sizes: 6x7, 6x9, and 6x12.
The included lens is a Rodenstock Apo-Grandagon 45mm f/4.5, mounted on a Copal shutter. This lens has a design of 4 groups and 8 elements, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.4m, featuring both meter and feet markings.
Additional interchangeable lens options include Rodenstock's Apo-Grandagon 35/45/55mm f/4.5, Grandagon 65/90mm f/4.5, and Apo-Sironar N 135mm f/4.5. Schneider lenses available for this system include the Super Angulon XL 38/47/58mm f/5.6 and Super Symmar XL 80mm f/4.5.
The camera also allows for shooting in 6x12 cm, 6x7 cm, and 6x9 cm formats through interchangeable film holders (this unit includes two holders: one for 6x12 cm film with six exposures and another for 6x9 cm film with eight exposures).
Focusing is done via estimation or ground glass, and the viewfinder supports interchangeable masks to accommodate various focal lengths (this unit includes three masks for 6x12 cm: 45mm, 55mm, and 65mm; however, no 6x9 masks are included).
The Horseman SW612 is in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of use, with a beautiful black paint finish that adds to its aesthetic appeal. All functions operate normally, although the helicoid movement feels slightly stiff. The viewfinder is very clear, providing a good visual experience, and the lens is free from scratches or fog, presenting exceptionally clear glass.
Included with the camera are the viewfinder, three finder masks, film holders for 6x12 and 6x9 formats, a center filter, a strap, and a copy of the Japanese manual.
