※About rarity

Summaron 35mm f2.8. This is a relatively rare Leica screw-mount Summaron, manufactured in 1959. Leitz code is SIMOO / 11006. Made in Germany. Filter size is E39.

The new Summaron, which is 0.5 stops brighter than its predecessor at f3.5. 6 groups in 4 elements, double Gauss design with new type glass.

It shares the same barrel design as the 8-element Summicron, and when mounted on stylish cameras like the IIIf or IIIg, it makes a striking appearance.

While it produces generally gentle rendering at wide open apertures, the central resolution is good, and it offers dramatic peripheral falloff. This hidden gem lens is preferred by some over the 8-element Summicron. Compatible hoods are ITDOO and IROOA.

The aluminum tip shows some wear from hood attachment and removal, but otherwise, the lens is in very good condition with minimal signs of use. It suits a clean body very well.

Fully overhauled in August 2024. All operational parts are smoothly finished. The infinity stopper glides smoothly into place, and the rangefinder coupling works perfectly.

There are very minor coating marks and spots on the glass, but they are at a level that does not affect image quality. There are no noticeable cleaning marks, and the coating is well-preserved. As a Summaron known for having "spider" marks, this lens has an excellent glass condition.

The original front cap is included.
