※About rarity

Leica M3, late model with single-stroke advance, serial number in the 1.09 million range, manufactured in 1964.
Leitz product code: IGEMO.

Widely regarded as the pinnacle of rangefinder camera design, the Leica M3 is the model that propelled Leica to the forefront of the post-war camera industry—a true icon in photographic history.

For those who primarily use a 50mm lens, the M3 remains one of the best choices even today.
Renowned for its exceptional performance, reliability, and durability, it was favored by photographers and journalists around the world, capturing countless historic moments throughout the 20th century.

This particular example remains in excellent condition, retaining all of its original parts from the time of release.
Now fully refreshed through a recent overhaul, it is in perfect working order and ready for use.

Aside from a few extremely faint scuff marks on the shutter speed dial—likely from mounting and removing a light meter—and a small area of slight glossiness on the upper right corner of the back door, there are no noticeable signs of use.
Overall, this is a remarkably clean example.

The vulcanite covering is entirely original, with a fresh appearance and well-defined grain.
The crinkle paint finish next to the back door remains rough to the touch, indicating very little use.
All parts are consistent in condition.

Fully overhauled in April 2025, including shutter curtain replacement.
All functions operate smoothly, with excellent tactile feel.
The viewfinder is clear, with no haze or balsam separation, and the rangefinder patch offers strong contrast for easy focusing.

Comes with original Leica body cap.
